How Many More Days of Winter?

Posted on by Langlade Springs

1Although Punxsutawney Phil and other four-legged weather prognosticators proclaimed winter would be over by mid-March, the forecast continues to predict just the opposite. Frigid temperatures, icy roads and sidewalks, and record-breaking snowfalls across much of the country may have curtailed your outdoor activities, but it’s important to remember to stay hydrated during the winter months.

“We don’t realize that cold winter air is much drier than humid summer air. This impacts the amount of moisture our bodies naturally absorb from the environment – both outside and inside heated buildings, which also have much drier air,” says Chris Hogan, IBWA (Intl. Bottled Water Assoc.) VP of Communications.

Hogan continues, “Even though you are not perspiring as much, you can still become dehydrated. Just going about your daily activities in the winter months puts added pressure on a person’s hydration level.”
